The represented work is a collagraph on handmade paper, characterized by the deployment of textures and color. Even though the piece is unsigned and lacks an edition, the creative result demonstrates the technical mastery of its author in this graphic manifestation. Collagraphy is an experimental printmaking technique involving the creation of a matrix by gluing elements onto a support that can be inked and stamped. Its main contribution to the world of printmaking is the replacement of traditional matrices with radically different ones, leading to a fundamental reconsideration of technical and aesthetic concepts. In essence, collagraphy is an additive printmaking technique, and to a lesser extent, subtractive, as once the elements are incorporated, one can work on them by removing material. The collage created serves as a means to achieve a print. Like any matrix, the intrinsic properties of the materials placed on the support will be a significant part of the print. However, until it is inked, the image and color will not be formed. Therefore, it is essential to visualize the result. La obra representada es una colagrafia sobre papel manufacturado y se caracteriza por el despliegue de texturas y color, aun cuando la pieza no tiene firma , ni edición , el resultado creativo demuestra el domino técnico de su autor en esta manifestación gráfica. El collagraph es una técnica experimental del grabado consistente en elaborar una matriz a base de pegar sobre un soporte elementos que puedan ser entintados y estampados. Su principal aportación al mundo de la gráfica es la sustitución de las matrices tradicionales por otras radicalmente distintas, lo que supuso un replanteamiento fundamental en cuanto a la concepción técnica y estética. En definitiva, el collagraph, colografía o colagrafía, es una técnica aditiva de grabado y, en menor medida también sustractiva ya que una vez incorporados los elementos se puede trabajar sobe ellos quitando materia. El collage que se realiza es un medio para conseguir una estampa, esto es: como en cualquier matriz las propiedades intrínsecas de los materiales que se coloquen sobre el soporte serán la principal parte integrante de la estampa, pero hasta que no se entinte no se conformará la imagen y el color. Por ello es importante saber visualizar el resultado y, dado que las improntas son muy vistosas, debe tenerse presente que el mero hecho de utilizar un material insólito por su textura no garantiza la calidad estética de la estampa.
