Description: A classic Ansonia Regulator "A" from 1906 that has been fully restored ! The original Ansonia 8 day movement has been completely disassembled, all parts cleaned ultrasonically and by hand. The wheels all checked for trueness and the pivots polished, several new bushings were added to ensure good time keeping for years to come. the mainsprings were removed from their arbors and properly cleaned and greased and are in great condition to power the clock. the movement then reassembled, oiled and adjusted and tested for several days before being reinstalled. The clock keeps very good time and chimes pleasantly once on the half hour and the correct number of hours on the hour. The beautiful original cabinet has been thoroughly cleaned and conditioned and is quite original. The bezel has its original glass and the brass bezel has been highly polished to it's original shiny appearance. The original dial face has a nice patina and presents well and the original hour and minute hands have been reblued. This is a fine specimen of the classic Ansonia Regulator "A" that would provide many years of service and enjoyment in any foyer, hallway or any room in your home. This clock originally sold for $10.50 +.30 cents extra for the cathedral gong (see photo #21) pictured as it appeared in the 1906 Ansonia catalog.
