Description: This is a Japanese hand made and carved pot holder used to pick up cooking vessels or pots off of an open fire . This is a hand designed piece that shows darker wood where the holder actually lowered close to the open fire to pick up the hot pot. This one comes with a bamboo tube like holder that has copper rings that encircles the bamboo. There are also a type of heavy string or rope that is used to attach the fish to the holder and can be used to carry the two pieces together. The actual bamboo piece along with the fish is 41" long. The hook and holder inside the bamboo is 35" long. This is a great piece from Japanese history.
