Antique 1909 Arts & Crafts JAMES FENTON Enamel Sterling Silver Pendant Necklace

This beautiful antique necklace is by the famed and highly sought-after English craftsman James Fenton of Birmingham. Being genuinely from the period, it shows an Art Nouveau/ Arts & Crafts design (periods did overlap) crafted of sterling silver and enamel. The hammered shield pendant has sections filled with deep purple and cobalt blue enamel, which almost appears black. The oval in the center is raised, cabochon style, with the same shades of enamel. Fenton's signature dangle hangs from the bottom of the pendant, filled with purple enamel. The back of the pendant is hallmarked for James Fenton, sterling silver, Birmingham, and 1909, and the clasp is stamped "925." Condition: Excellent! Enamel is pristine.
