Before TV's, families gathered around Radio. Imagine some of the News that was playing through this radio when it was new! Tabletop model vintage wood tube radio manufactured by Philco in the 1942 time frame. In very good physical condition (besides the broken tuning glass window) that you can see on the photos. Works great, the Original knobs are matching brown marbly plastic and are securely attached. No splits, abrasions or missing material anywhere on the cabinet! No peeling or chipped veneer. This Antique Radio is original factory wood construction, nice book matched veneering. All original: knobs, dial pointer etc are present (All Working Order). Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly, up and down the dial, without external antenna attachment. Excellent War Era Mid Century Design! This Radio is 75+ Years Old! All the dial numbering and lettering is crisp clear. Clear running dial window glass is original but unfortunately broken, as you can see on the photos, but has no hazing, No warping or Yellowing. No flaking numbering or markings on dial glass (which is typical of Philco) Dial light's up brightly! The tuning and volume dials work very good (no slipping or sticky spots) Factory decals in excellent condition. The Unit powers On and Off with a definite click.
