Description: For sale is a piece I have always wanted to have - a miniature porcelain skull made made by Nymphenburg in the early 20th century . This skull was originally modeled in the 18th century by Franz Ignatz Gunther as part of a Crucifix displayed in a small chapel in the winter residence of the famous Bavarian royal family, the Wittelsbach family. Always wanted to have one of these and I was super thrilled to buy three of them at once. And as a bonus - even my kids love it :) These are really hard to find and just fun to have on your desk. You can play Shakespeare anytime you want! Or just a memento mori to remind us to live life to the fullest. The detail of the modeling is amazing! It is marked to the back as shown with the impressed shield as well as the model number 624 a over B . Just the type of oddity that one has to see and own :) The piece is about 1.375 inches tall, 1.25 inches wide and 1.875 inches long. The piece is in perfect condition.
