Description: The American Brilliant Period had its run between 1876-1916. This era got its name due to the luster, shine, and brilliance of the crystal. At this time in history, this type of crystal was considered the best crystal in the world and to this day some people still strongly believe it to be. Glass blowers would hand blow crystal glass blanks. These blanks would be sold to cut houses where cutters would cut designs onto the blanks with incredible precision. American Brilliant Cut Glass is all hand made. It is a unique piece of American History. This chalice is only a "DISPLAY" piece. It has a major crack, but still looks beautiful. I am looking for someone who would like to preserve a piece of American History. This piece in particular is over 14 inches tall. It weighs a whopping 13 pounds (its heavy). Experts have yet to find the glass cutting house behind this pattern but this pattern and cutting is considered one of the finest on an ABP Chalice. It is over 100 years old.
