Description: ANTIQUE BURMESE, THAI, SWORD, DHA, WITH WAVE ENGRAVING ON BLADE I believe this sword is a "Dha", national sword of Burma and in nearby countries. It has a guardless hilt and a slightly curved, single-edged blade. It measures in total length approx. 34" long when in its scabbard, The blade meas. approx. 19 1/4" long and handle is approx. 10" long. The ridge back of the blade near the handle is approx. 6 mm thick down to 2mm at the end of the tip. There are several wave like decorations on the blade-see photos. The handle and scabbard have woven braid rings of straw or grass like material (some missing on grip of handle) Overall a nice example of a early piece. When boxed for shipping it weighs 2 pounds 14 ounces.
