Description: Antique Cast Iron Flower Basket Door Stop (c Early 20th Century) This vintage cast iron flower basket doorstop measures 6 1/2" tall and 5 1/2" wide at the base. It is solid and quite heavy, weighing just under 5 lbs. It looks very much like a Hubley piece however the foundry and model have not been authenticated. The number 10_ (?) is stamped on the back with only the first 2 numbers partly visible. The piece is in good condition, nicely aged showing some light surface rust, with no cracks or chips. This early 20th century doorstop was likely made in America some time between the turn of the last century and 1940. The flower basket design and size are desirable and the piece has a visually appealing aged patina. It could be used as traditionally intended as a doorstop, placed on a shelf as a bookend, or creatively used as an accent piece. A welcoming addition to any home.
