Description: Item: Ginger Jar (No Lid) Make: Chinese Origin Model: Ginger Jar Age: 19th Cent. Construction: Hand Painted Stoneware Pottery Dimensions: 4 1/2" T x 4 3/4" Dia Condition: Very good antique condition. Near mint, some discoloration of material due to age. Details: Small ginger jar with white glaze. Decorated with cobalt blue swirls on top half of jar, stripes on lower half. Interior glazed white. Rim and top 3/8" of shoulder unglazed. Obvious pits and firing faults throughout, consistent with a utilitarian vessel. Material appears to be stoneware or a crude porcelain mix.
