The addition of "MADE IN" was required from 1919. The Qing dynasty. (1644–1911). Trigrams are symbols of the cycle of yin and yang energy present in all things. Each of the Eight Trigrams consists of three horizontal lines that represent either yin or yang energy. Yang energy is depicted as a continuous line and yin energy by a broken line. DESCRIPTION: This octagon bowl measures approximately 8.25" in diameter by 2" deep. The piece has a celadon interior with 8 Trigrams design on the outside. The prominent foot has a burgundy design of two lines above and below with a design of two opposing waves that come together in the center. CONDITION: It is in good condition for its' age of more than 105 years (approximately).* No existing cracks or visible crazing. One possible restoration or manufacturing fix (unknown). Some minor flakes to the rim and base. Some missed or flaked glaze in the interior as pictured. Overall a very striking Chinese piece that is handmade, hand painted with vibrant colors.
