Description: Here listed a beautiful heavy thick celluloid vanity set in a velvet hinged box. Some velvet worn off on the front edge. You have to look carefully to see. This set contains 14 pieces, I inspected and did not find damage on any piece. When I refer to these as thick they feel firm as tho they could be made of metal. None of the thin celluloid that you see so much from 1915-20 era. These are lovely ! The bevel mirror is almost perfect, the brushes are healthy, the soap dish not cracked, the screw on top talc is adorable. I tried to supply you with the signed comb as it is the only piece marked. It has C B Depose celluloid secure and then a patd. date of Feb. 25, 1878. This set does not feel as it could be that early, I believe, 1900-1910, may be entirely wrong. Refreshing my memory about Depose and Google has that it can often refer handmade items. The case measures 11.5" x 11.5" x 3.5". I have held on to set for many years knowing it was special.
