Antique Double Door Toaster, Laurel Wreath, Dominion Electrical, Model 1101

Has no cord ". - Old fashion double door toaster, with the Laurel Wreath on the chrome doors. Has only three wood handles, one is missing. Two mica sheets, which was used for a heating element back in the day, are inside. Bottom base has four wooden feet. Made by the Dominion Electrical MFG, in Mansfield, Ohio. Model # 1101. From the 1920's. The toaster listed here - only toasted one side at a time, and you had to manually flip them around. The trick was, because of no timer in the toaster, was not to burn the toast. You had to keep a close eye on it, and watch it carefully. The first pop-up toaster was sold in 1921, which made making toast much easier! * Condition - Selling as a display piece only. Has no cord, and not sure it would actually be safe to use. Chrome doors still have a nice shine, although they show surface scratches, and some pitting in metal. One wood handle is missing. The black on the metal is about worn off, and shows surface rust. One door is out of line, but it does stay shut. A smear of gray paint on the top. Has a bit of a wobble to it sitting on a flat surface. Makes a good display. If the black was cleaned up and repainted in your favorite color, would make a wonderful conversation piece.
