Description: A scarce c1860 F & R Pratt terra cotta hot water jug, 9"h to top of lid finial. The lid has a wide inner flange designed to be turned to limit steam from escaping, thus keeping water hot for longer. See 7th and 8th photos. Good condition with three small chips to inner lid flange, see 9th photo. A few losses to tiny beaded decoration though possibly as made. All sides shown, please use zoom function to inspect closely.
