Description: This is a Spence & Gourlay mashie niblick that had was made in St Andrews, Scotland prior to 1919. It has the initials EHM stamped on the head for the original owner. The SW is C9 and the shaft is secure to the head and dead straight. The original grip is still on the club and is secure, along with the original whipping. The length of the club is 36.75". The sole is neutral with a nicely rounded leading edge. It appears to have have been played lightly, if at all. There are no nicks, bag chatter, or wear of any sort- see close up photos. The grooves have no wear at all. It is a rare example of a hickory golf club that is in the type of condition that the original owner would have experienced when they first bought it. A good player or display club.
