Description: This antique terrarium easily stands alone as a conversation piece, but is also usable for its intended purpose. Incredible detail, with no chips, cracks or visible flaws to the original glass panels. Original soldered lead framework has no breaks or visible weak-points, but some surface wear from age is present. I did not attempt to clean or however, and may clean up to look pristine, but looks "better" as it is to me. Original base also has no chips or cracks, and appears to be made of plaster, although I'm not 100% sure on that. Very nice braided edge on the interior wall of the base. But design, the very small window openings on the top have no glass every other space, to allow some moisture to escape. Incredible antique item.
