Description: Antique Moore Non-Leakable #10 Safety Fountain Pen - For Parts/Repair The Moore Pen Company started life as the "American Fountain Pen Company" and made reasonably high quality pens in the early 1900's. They made pens all the way up until the 1950's including the famous "Moore Fingertip" pen. They're most well known for their safety pens like this one which used a design that pushed the nib out instead of rotating it out like the Waterman safety pens. This one is fairly early, probably from the late 1910's (1917 onwards) or early 1920's. Features: - Black chased hard rubber, classic design. It has some discoloration but it is really not too bad considering its age. Imprint is fairly crisp and very readable. Even has the original price/model # imprints on the end knob.- Long thin model, measures approximately 4 15/16" with the feed in, and around 4 10/16" with the nib/feed extended. It would be longer with a cap, but the cap is missing.- Feed extends easily when pushing the back segment forward, as designed. There is a little collar around the feed that gets pushed out sometimes, not sure if it is an issue. It is being sold as-is, for repair or parts for the following reasons: - No cap. A suitable replacement will need to be found.- No nib. I had to mark a nib type for the description - this would have come with a small 14kt gold nib, probably #1 or #2 size equivalent (don't think Moore numbered their nibs but comparable to those sizes). - Seals will need to be replaced for proper function. The old cork and rubber seals have likely long deteriorated and the pen will leak if these are not replaced.- There is a small hairline on the end knob. I don't know if it is a scratch or a crack or if it would affect usage of the pen. Please see photo with the arrow. I have not opened this pen so I do not what the internals look like or if there are any issues inside. I've gently cleaned up the pen with a dry soft bristle brush on the outside, no other modifications were made. This pen is being sold as-is for parts or repair, please see above for the condition notes. If you need any additional pictures or information, please send me a message. Hoping this one can go to someone who can repair it (or use it as parts to repair another pen), these early Moore pens are very nice.
