Grand Rapids, Michigan This RARE early 1900's, very unique brass match safe in the shape of an aquatic turtle was made by the Grand Rapids Brass Co. of Michigan. Inside the shell of the turtle when opened is the ribbed match strike area. Grand Rapids Brass Co. operated from approximately 1881 to 1956, making brass goods. On the bottom of the match safe it says: "Mfgrs. Refrigerator & Furniture Hardware". Size: 5 inches long, width 2.875 inches, 1.5 inches tallVery nice original condition, see photos.
