Prussia covered biscuit jar. This biscuit jar, made with the point and clover mold, features a glass bowl with an assortment of colorful flowers for its decoration. The original lid has a clover finial. Both lid and jar have nice gold highlights. The background is in cream and green tones with shadow flowers on the green shoulders. The jar has the red and green R.S. Prussia with star and wreath mark on the underside which dates it from the late 19th century to about 1917. The biscuit jar is in excellent shape with the exception of a very tiny flat pin head nick on the rim of the backside and the lid has a very faint tight hairline that is located on the top in front of the clover, but does not extend to either sides of the lid’s rim (see photographs). This hairline is only visible with a strong light. This is truly a gorgeous piece that has been part of our aunt’s collection for years until her recent passing. It was one of her favorites, so now it is time to make it yours! Please take the time to carefully examine all the photographs for more details. It measures approximately 6.2” wide (measured at the foot) and 5.75” deep (measured at the shoulders). The biscuit jar weighs approximately 1 lb, 11 ounces. All measurements are approximate, but close. Condition: We carefully examined this item. Other than the tiny nick on the rim of the jar and the short tight hairline on the top of the lid, NO other Chips, Nicks, Cracks, Stains, Crazing, Repairs or Restorations were noted. Light wear to the gold gilding is noted, but not distracting and we mention it only for accuracy. Please take the time to carefully examine all the photographs for more details.
