Description: For your consideration is a delightful little Plein air landscape of a mountain stream filling a lake. This wonderful small gem watercolor is by an unknown artist. No mark or signature to be found; although I have yet to remove from frame. Subject is a post impressionist landscape. It is a simple painting—size restrictions and all—but the artist still manages to get a solid landscape in the teeny space, and some great use of color. We see warm butterscotch colored grassy hills in the foreground. I’m the background, we see a blue grey hill; this same tone is used in the water. It makes me think the water is quite cold. Also present is a sort of haze over try pond or lake—early morning haze before the sun burns it off later on the day. Artwork is on paper or thin cardboard. Artwork measures approximately 3.5 x 4.75”. Painting is in great shape with no conditions to note. The artwork is housed in its original frame which is a wide traditional Plein air frame. This one has a black glossy exterior, and gold filet. The frame is antique, so expect some age related wear such as the odd minor nick ding or scratch. Apart from this, the frame is doing pretty good and has no other conditions to note. Unsure what artwork plus frame measures, although I tend to think adding roughly 6” to above measurement will give you total footprint.
