Antique Transferware Posset Cup, Decorated with Camel, C 1820

Description: Rare light and dark blue transferware footed posset cup decorated in transfer print with a scene of a figure on horseback next to another loading a camel in front of an onion domed temple surrounded by exotic trees. Rim is decorated with a border on interior of floral garlands. Wishbone shaped handle, also decorated. The posset cup measures approximately 3 inches in diameter and sit 2.5 inches high. The piece has the slightly blue glaze pooling in crevices on reverse and is marked with an “8” in blue under glaze. The item(s) are antique and sold as is. They may show wear, fading, scratches, chips, cracks, original imperfections and/or damage from normal use. I note a chip to foot, some February small chips to glaze on rim, and crazing to glaze as seen in photos. Examine photos carefully as they are part of the description.
