Antique Victorian 9 Kt. Yellow Gold Enamel Agate Cameo Necklace, G. F. Chain

Description: WONDERFUL antique Victorian 9 Kt. yellow gold, taille d’épargne enamel, seed pearl and carnelian agate pendant with newer gold-filled chain. This listing features a particularly nice, beautifully detailed antique Victorian taille d’épargne & hard stone cameo pendant that is 1 3/8” long by 11/16” wide by 3/8” deep. This fine pendant has an Egyptian Revival style, lotus blossom top that is hinged to the bottom portion which features engraved and enamel (taille d’épargne) detail, a wonderful, carved hard stone cameo and seed pearls set in a gorgeous, dimensional 9 Kt. yellow gold setting. This antique cameo/pendant has a hint of Eastlake and Egyptian Revival along with the obvious taille d’épargne traced enamel design and the lovely cameo. It covers several Victorian jewelry design bases. The four seed pearls are set up in ornate bezels on four sides of the dimensional cameo at center. The top portion has a large hidden bail. This pendant hangs on a newer yellow gold-filled curb link chain that is 18” long and that is finished with a spring ring clasp. It is bright yellow gold-fill with lots of sparkle. This necklace weighs 4.3 grams altogether. The pendant, alone, weighs just under 3 grams. The pendant is not signed, but it has been tested as 9 Kt. gold. The chain is stamped “1/20, 12 Kt. G.F.” on its clasp. This is a lovely antique necklace and it is in good antique condition with only minor, age appropriate surface wear including minor enamel loss and minor verdigris on the back where the sides were adjoined to the front, obviously with lower karat gold or non-gold solder. One side of the lower edge, right side facing is slightly out of round where it attaches to the front portion, but this is only seen from the side. It is not seen when viewing from the front.
