Description: Antique dome top wooden chest. It measures about 9.25" tall and the base is about 16.5" x 7.5". It is partially lined on the inside with sections of a newspaper dated 1831, so I assume the box was originally from that period. The outside covering is a thick paper material, which appears to be newer. There is a cutout section in the wood in the front, which probably originally housed the locking mechanism for the trunk. It is covered by the exterior paper, so the hole is not visible. Condition is as seen in photos. Scratches, fading/discoloration and water damage to the exterior paper covering.
