Gorgeous old wooden violin case made in France. Dates back to the first quarter of the 20th century. The case represents the traditional French design from the period - strong laminated wooden shell with a beautiful walnut veneer, lined inside with felt. The case is ultra-light (just 2.5 lb, or 1,123 g), yet sturdy. There is one storage compartments inside located above the scroll. The case is in vintage condition - inevitably, it has some imperfections consistent with its age. The spring lock lacks the slide button (although the pin to which the button is normally attached allows to open the lock easily). All other hardware elements are in place, and the spring lock functions reasonably well (there is no key). The hand-stitched leather handle is oldish but still strong. The inside lining in good condition consistent with the age. There is a seam separation at the bottom bout (see the image) due to the uneven drying of the wood, but there is no hole, and the case is solidly strong. C115
