A former advertising copywriter, he directs an upper-elementary Montessori classroom in Florida, where much to his delight, his students thrive at creative writing, and where his sixth-graders read weekly with their kindergarten reading buddies. Review "McGlens text is often poetic, suitably paired with Touliatous brash, stylized, unconventional illustrations...A unique book about finding creativity in unlikely places, and the extraordinary power of friendship." --School Library Journal"This simple story of overcoming differences and finding a common bond will tap on readers hearts just as Antoninos new friend taps her way into his life. Together, the two accomplish more than they could alone, and that may be, after all, the power of true friendship." --Rob Sanders, author of Pride: The Story of Harvey Milk and the Rainbow Flag"This inspiring tale of a creative childs struggle with frustration will encourage readers to open themselves to possibilities they may not at first see, feel, or hear, with wonderful, surprising, and amazing results! Proof that friendship is a masterpiece of possibilities!" --Lynne Marie, author of The Star in the Christmas Play Long Description "A timeless tale about the wish for a friend.
