We also have the Belkin Wiring Kit. Excellent condition - minor scratch around the top Thunderbolt ports. We are licensed, official resellers.*This is a 24 core processor, but ask us about 28, 16, 12, or 8 core as if you prefer it. Any upgrade after that, provides them. So, at minimum I would recommend an upgraded Apple MPX video card. The included Vega II is far beyond that. This is why we configured this with the Apple Radeon Pro Vega II MPX (this gives you an additional 3 Thunderbolt ports). Both of these cards will boot to Windows as I've already tested the same model hardware (different unit) on another Mac Pro 7,1. We can install Windows for you, dual boot macOS OS, single OS, etc upon request. For storage, this has a 1TB storage Apple, internal drive(s). It shows up as one 1TB drive, but is comprised of two 512GB drive blades. It puts the two 512 GB into a form of RAID, which either resembles RAID 0 or actually is RAID 0. RAID 0 is when you have at least two drives, but the Operating System sees it as one drive thereby sending half the data to one and half to the other. This makes data transfer much faster than only sending data to one physical drive and one only. This is an important upgrade because the entry level 256GB drive Apple ships in a basic system is a single disk and is locked by Apple to not be allowed to work with any other 256GB drives (Apple recently changed this to 512GB, but the same issue). If you had the bright idea of purchasing another 256GB used here on eBay or new in order to combine it with your other 256GB to achieve 512GB RAID 0, let me save you the time... it doesn't work. Apple chipped it so this is not possible. Conclusion, the internal drive should be upgraded and the included 1TB internal drive is enough to install macOS with a multitude of software as well as dual booting Windows or Linux (you can always install Windows on a 3rd party drive with this Mac Pro as it has plenty of PCIe slots). A Mac Studio has no PCIe slots and this Mac Pro has 8 of them. 100G networking card? Avid cards? Additional drives? Additional USB card? This is a real tower. An Intel chipset will allow you to work with Windows, Linux, etc and much of your pre-existing hardware. The new Apple Silicon has been showing to be problematic, especially for audio engineers and it seems the audio hardware/software companies are not up to par and most likely won't be until the M3 is released (meaning, 2 to 3 years from now). It's also a bit fuzzy on whether Apple will secure the ability to run Windows, Linux, etc on an Apple silicon based computer. We are waiting on Apple silicon to iron out all the wrinkles before changing over. The reason is because the lattice work is on both the front and back of the Tower. On the Rack unit, it's only in the front. I've been to machine shops and know the cost to manufacture lattice work that looks that beautiful and it wouldn't surprise me to find out Apple pays less to manufacturer the Rack yet charges more for it. The Tower simply looks better and is more eye pleasing (*with that said, we also have a Rack for sale as well as the Tower). Apple made it so that you must remove every cable from the Tower in order to open it and access the inside. This can be frustrating if you have a lot of cables connected and frequently need to get inside your computer. On the Rack unit, you can still open the cover without disconnecting all the cables, so it's a plus for the Rack (the minus being an extra $500 cost). However, you could fairly easily cut a slit in the rear Tower case and still be able to open it without removing all the cables. You can even turn on the Tower while the cover is off (simple jumper up top, it's in the manual). You could do this and still have it look tasteful (no one would really notice). The good news, if for some reason you absolutely hate that decision, I'm sure you could purchase another cover for $500 or less and then you would have two covers for the same cost as the Rack unit. One that allows cables to be removed and one that is original. Or, you could simply remove each cable like many people do and reconnect them after putting the cover back on. This way you save $500 and you have the most beautiful design. With that said, we prefer the Tower design over the Rack based not only on design, but cost as well. ***********We have three of these Mac Pros. One is a Rack unit and the other two are both Towers. I have one Tower that still has AppleCare+ until Feb 24, 2024. I believe the other two are both out of warranty. These computers were purchased by us and not even used a great deal. No heavy video editing was done on them or anything. The reason is because we moved from NJ to FL and then had to move again when our landlord didn't renew the lease (we since bought a house) and because of covid, we weren't getting as much work as prior to covid. We have a 16 Core and two 24 Core processor Mac Pros. I have trays of RAM that is the same RAM Apple uses and comes with a lifetime warranty, so we can upgrade that as well if you need it. We also have two Afterburner cards as well as other upgrades like the Belkin wiring kit and drive tray holders for inside the Mac Pro. We have two Vega II cards as well. Please let us know if there is a certain configuration you're looking for. Best,Andrew
