ARTIE SHAW Hot Jazz 78 -- Bluebird # B-7875 -- NIGHTMARE + Non-Stop Flight, 1938

Description: Bluebird 10-inch 78 RPM record # B-7875 is "Nightmare" and "Non-Stop Flight" by Artie Shaw and His Orchestra. Both sides are considered "hot" enough for inclusion in Brian Rust's "Hot Jazz Discography", which gives them a recording date of September 27, 1938. The record looks beautifully shiny, but with a few scuffs and scratches and needle gouges. I played both sides on my Audio-Technica turntable, and there were two forward jumps (no repeats) - one near the end of "Nightmare", the other in the middle of "Non-Stop Flight." Otherwise just typical light background noise. Because of variations in tracking ability, filtering technology and needle weights, I can offer no guarantees as to how well it will play on your equipment. It comes with the Bluebird sleeve shown in the pictures, but it is split and chipped and creased and doesn't add anything to the value.
