As usual, one edge is slightly uneven from being removed from the binding. Minor spot of browning at the lower left corner(see closeup), which is marginal and can be matted out. This is an original hand-colored print - #45 - from the royal octavo first edition of John James Audubon's Birds of America, published 1840-1844. The first octavo edition was produced under the direct supervision of John James Audubon and features strictly hand-coloring. The credits are in BLOCK LETTERS, as required, for royal octavos numbered 1-150. Comes in a plastic protector, and will be sandwiched between wider foam boards for mailing.
