Finely crafted large anthropomorphic axe god in the form of standing idol figurine carved from a speckled green serpentine stone. The figure is characteristically abstract and minimalistic, comprised large head with concave band below a dome-shaped brow, and a thin and open mouth. The arms held at sides of the torso and tapered short legs- hence the name "axe god” are all delineated through use of the string-cut technique. These types of figures have been used as ceremonial object offerings to the gods. Lucite display stand for photography purposes only and is not included with the figure.
