Description: Authentic Original 8 Reales Cob Coin salvaged from the wreck of the Atocha, mounted in custom bezel made of Silver, with yellow gold accents and a round, naturally light-yellow colored diamond as well, not certain what carat weight but probably no more than a quarter carat or less. Coin is a Grade 4, and exhibits considerable “shipwreck effect” corrosion to the surface that has erased almost everything on both sides of the coin, but nonetheless a very interesting piece. Included is the original Certificate of Authenticity which is hand-signed by Mel Fisher himself. Also comes with the original flip tag. See photos for close views.
