Description: MARVEL COMICS Marvel StudiosMarvel Cinematic Universe MCU Speculative KeyAVENGERS: DOOMSDAY (2026)AVENGERS: SECRET WARS (2027)First Meeting: Infamous Iron Man (Doctor Doom) and The Avengers (Team) ROBERT DOWNEY, JR has been, is, and always will be IRON MAN -- even though, in the future of the MCU, he won't actually be playing the character of Iron Man / Tony Stark. Instead, he'll be DOCTOR DOOM -- the Doctor Doom of The Multiverse Saga that is Victor Von Doom and not a Variant of Tony Stark that became a Doctor Doom instead of an Iron Man. At least, this is what we've been told or otherwise lead to believe thus far. Nevertheless, there's another viewpoint that makes too much sense to ignore: namely, that though he may be a villain for a while, Downey, Jr.'s Doom will eventually join the heroes in Avengers: Secret Wars to fight against another Big Bad, the true Big Bad -- either The Beyonder or, perhaps even more likely, a second Doctor Doom. This second Doctor Doom would continue on into the softly rebooted MCU post-Secret Wars as the main Doctor Doom of the Marvel-616 Universe,. The thought here is that Downey, Jr.'s Doom eventually must become a hero, because Downey, Jr. himself has been associated with the heroic since Iron Man (2008) and therefore must necessarily exit the MCU as a hero as well. Bringing in another, more definitively villainous Doctor Doom also allows for continuity and credibility as the character continues into later phases of the MCU. If this second viewpoint, this second possible way the story might unfold, is correct, then at some point The Avengers will have to accept Downey, Jr's Doom as one of their own, as a member of the team. In essence, especially in a meta-textual way, Downey, Jr. will be portraying "Iron Man/Doctor Doom" -- the same character that Marvel Comics' INFAMOUS IRON MAN represents. If and only if this occurs do any of the Infamous Iron Man comic books truly become legitimate keys for the MCU. If and only if this occurs does AVENGERS #7 (VOL 6, 2017) similarly become an MCU Key. We're offering HIGH-GRADE COPIES of Avengers #7 (2017) featuring an Infamous Iron Man Regular Art Cover by Alex Ross to eBay collectors because we believe that the moment in question will occur so that Downey, Jr's Doom is redeemed before the end credits of Avengers: Secret Wars begin to roll. If you're of a similar mind, then we encourage you to pick-up a copy and quietly tuck it away for a year. When you do, you'll be giving your collection exactly what it deserves today as well as tomorrow.
