The Catwoman, teaming up with a crew of thieves (including a character serving as a very obvious nod to Richard Stark's "Parker," who Cooke would later adapt in a series of acclaimed graphic novels), part of the modern-day re-imagining of Catwoman as a pragmatic master thief. This story would serve as the foundation of Cooke and Ed Brubaker's later collaboration on the "Catwoman" comic series. Also included are other Batman stories Cooke did, from "Batman: Gotham Knights" #23 and 33 and "Solo" #1 and 5. Finally, the book also features all of the Batman variant covers that Cooke did throughout his DC Comics career, spotlighting his unique style. Cooke was a one-of-a-kind comics creator, with a very classic style - melding space-age, 60's-style "Googie" aesthetics with modern sensibilities. Even if you aren't familiar with his work by name, you'll surely recognize some of his style from "Batman: The Animated Series," which Cooke played a part in animating. This is truly a special book, filled with gorgeous artwork by a man who passed away far before his time, and is a must-have for any serious Batman or Darwyn Cooke fan.
