Description: Beautiful Antique bronze medal of Le fardier de cugnot, 1765. Nicolas Joseph Cugnot (25 February 1725 – 2 October 1804) was a French military engineer, best known for having designed and built, between 1765 and 1771, the first motor vehicle ever built in the world. It is an artillery flatbed, powered by a two-cylinder steam engine, preserved in perfect condition at the Musée des Arts et Métiers in Paris. The medal is from the collection of Car History, was made by the sculptor Vasco Costa in 1976. Has 5 cm diameter and 3 mm thickness. Weighs 44 grams.
