When peeling the stick, some color of the box is lost. These were purchased from lifestyle by focus. I have watched many videos on comparing real benchmade and cheap fake ones. One of the most obvious thing to check is the registration marker on the blade (The R within a circle): the fake ones have that R much bigger compared to the real ones. I think it may take some precise tools to make the registration mark as small as the real ones and that is why the fake ones cannot make them as small as the real one. Basically, in the real ones, you cannot clearly see the circle and R if not using a magnifier. If you can see a clear round circle and R, that is fake.
