They rotate to grip all workpieces equally well, whether round, irregular, or square shaped. The faces are canted at two degrees to exert downward pressure when tightened against a bench vise, preventing the piece from raising up. The dogs are slightly undersized so they will fit snugly in a 3/4" hole. A high tension side spring ensures a nice friction fit. Made from aluminum so they will not damage cutting tool edges. Dogs are approximately 2-3/8" long. Sold in a pair.
