A Low Power Indicator LED is included....when this LED lights up, change the batteries or charge the capacitors.There is a BLUE LED that lights up to show the relative output power level and that the unit is powered ON and working correctly. Powered by a choice of 3 AA batteries ( NOT included ) or a rechargeable 48 Farad Capacitor , along with a voltage booster / regulator. This new and improved power supply method will maintain a constant 9 volts available to the original Beck BT5 circuitry all the way down to about 2 volts remaining in the batteries or capacitors! . NB : To install or change the batteries, pry off the cover at the notches with a screwdriver or butter knife. THE CAPACITOR POWERED MODEL: * This Model does NOT use any batteries ! Power is obtained from a 50 FARAD capacitor. The capacitor can be charged / discharged a million times from ANY standard 5 Volt USB power source. The best of rechargeable batteries are good for 1000 times. There is no need to remove the cover lid as there are no user serviceable parts inside the box. Expected usable time of a fully charged Capacitor is approximately 45 Minutes, depending on the amplitude setting and the user's skin resistance. One can expect two 20 minute sessions before needing to recharge. The charging cable MUST BE removed during usage, for safety reasons, * QUICK charge time. Typically less than TEN MINUTES. *When charging from when the low power light is lit up...otherwise recharge time will be typically 20 minutes if capacitors are totally discharged , for instance, the unit left on overnight and the Low Power LED is NOT lit and the unit is dead. Do not exceed 30 minutes as the internal over-volt protection circuit may make the box warm. * USB plug in the wall power supply and the charging cable included. NOTE: Plug is for US standard outlet only. * A Low Power Indicator ORANGE LED is built in...when this LED lights up, charge the Capacitors.* The BLUE LED lights up to show the device is turned ON and relative strength of the output signal. NOTE: None of our products make sound , such as beeping during turn-on or off. All of our products operate silently. THE OPTIONAL TRIPLE WARMER HEADSET: This headset is supplied as an option. It is in the style of the original "headset" that was furnished with the Bob Beck Brain Tuner in the 1980s. Although the ear clips became the standard, there are many users that prefer the original. Our "headset" uses conductive cloth electrodes. The electrodes are placed in the hollow place below the ear and behind the lower jaw.
