DESCRIPTION Bobby Caldwell - “Carry On” Polydor Records PD-1-6347 (Stereo) from 1982. Hard to find Original First Pressing Vinyl Soul / Pop / Funk / R&B / Disco album from Bobby Caldwell. Backed by a great band featuring Steve Lukather, Steve Porcaro, Jimmy Haslip, David Paich, George “Chocolate” Perry, Neil Stubenhaus, Joe Galdo, Mike Fisher and The Tower Of Power Horns. Strings Arranged by James Newton Howard, Marty Paich, David Paich and Jerry Hey. In the Original Cover with NO Barcode or Cutouts. CONDITION The Sleeve is in nice shape. There is some fairly slight shelf wear and corner softening / wear. There is a gold promo stamp on the back. Super solid with no splits, stains, writing, tears, cutouts, etc. and would rate at least VG. The Vinyl is in clean Glossy condition looking lightly played. If you look closely you can spot a few slight scuffs, marks and a couple faint hairlines - no actual scratches i.e. something you can feel with a fingernail. At least a strong VG+ visually and really I think closer to EX overall and plays pretty much perfectly Near Mint. The labels are Near Mint. The inner sleeve has some ring impression, a crease in one corner, and 2 part split seams. If I provide Play Grades it is done as a courtesy but I only guarantee the Visual Grade. If you are not familiar with this grading system (or even if you think you are!), please check it out before bidding. I have summarized the important (i.e. I think everyone knows what Mint means) points below in Goldmine's words: Very Good Plus (VG+): Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK. Very Good (VG): Surface noise will be evident upon playing,... Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as will light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound. I stand by my grades but would like us to be on the same page so no problems arise. I have been selling Vintage Vinyl for over twenty years on the net and I can count the returns I've had on one hand so I believe my grading is fair and accurate. One important note, I try to grade to these Goldmine guides as best as I can understand and apply them. This gives us both a written standard to go by rather than having to guess. But.... it also means that I don't issue refunds over differences of opinion in grading i.e. "That's not MY idea of a VG record!" - I don't know what your standards are and, as such, can't grade to them.
