Description: Wouldn't It Be Nice: My Own Story by Brian Wilson with Todd Gold. HarperCollins, 1991. First Edition. A signed First Edition of the legendary Beach Boy and musical genius's memoir, from the library of one of his most notorious associates! In the book, "the former Beach Boy discusses his meteoric rise to superstardom, his breakdown and recovery, the birth of his band, his bouts with drug and alcohol addiction and mental illness, and his relationship with Dr. Eugene Landy." Brian Wilson signed this copy on the half-title thusly: To Loren -- We have memoriesfor sure. I would like to see you again -- sometime. Love, Brian Wilson "Loren" is almost certainly Lorren Daro (born Loren Darro Schwartz, 1937–2017), a talent agent involved in the Sixties L.A. music scene. Daro is generally credited (or blamed) for turning Brian on to cannabis and LSD, and also had a big part in the creation of the classic Beach Boys album, Pet Sounds. The inscription implies a close relationship with "Loren" from way back, and the book was purchased in Lake County, California, just a few miles away from Daro's final home in the village of Cobb. This book was probably one of many titles in his library emptied from his house after his demise. (Daro also placed sticky notes on pages where "Loren" is mentioned in the text. Significantly, his last name is not included in these sections.) This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Brian Wilson or Beach Boys fans to score a signed and inscribed First Edition of Brian Wilson's memoirs from the library of one of the most notorious figures in the history of the musician and band! Format: 6.5 x 9.5" hc w dj, First Edition, 398pp, signed and inscribed by Brian Wilson, photos, index.
