Description: Brother Jack McDuff Down Hole Style LP Blue Note 1969 VG- Vinyl Gatefold #S88 VINYL GRADE: VG-SLEEVE GRADE: VG+ORIGINAL INNER SLEEVE: noOTHER FEATUERS: n/a Vinyl is has moderate surface scuffing throughout. As received, it had some residue on the surface. Record cleaned throughout in an ultrasonic spin cleaner, revealing a moderate gloss. Plays with moderate surface noise throughout, Play graded as VG-. Test play through on a Fischer direct drive table from the 1980s with no repeated skips but occasional pops. Sleeve is clean, graded VG+. Overall, a lower end player copy. Priced according to defects, as this is a worn record. Please note that the numbers on the end of the title are our internal ID number, not any sort of pressing indicator of the vinyl. Record will be shipped outside of the jacket with record in new anti-static inner sleeve, both in a new plastic outer sleeve, for maximum protection on the shipping journey to you! Extra packing material, either cardboard or other records, is used to secure the box to limit movement in transit. No stock photos are used in my listings. The record pictured is the record you will receive. I test play all records sold individually. I test the first few seconds of each side to determine the background noise and any warps in the record. I randomly test place other spots of each side, focusing on any potential problem areas that one might assume to have playback issues. If you would like a record test played in full, please contact me prior to purchase and I will do so. I ship every day except Saturday, so I can usually test while shipping and get back to you in 24-28 hours with results. If a record is indicated as "plays through" in the description, I have test played the whole record already. I do ultrasonically clean records when necessary. If I've done so, it will be listed in the description. Typically, this is only when if I believe it'll improve the sound quality of the record. Putting a clean, quiet sounding record through an ultrasonic process can is ill advised as it can shorten the lifespan of the record. If I've not indicated a record to have been ultrasonically cleaned and you would like it to be cleaned, please reach out to me BEFORE you purchase the record so I can arrange to do so. Records will be shipped in cardboard records mailers via USPS media mail. Please see other auctions. We have purchased multiple lots of used records and have lots more listings coming. Combined shipping is available for all records and media mail purchased. Two more records can be shipped for only $6, including record lots, of any quantity! Please note that "original press," "original pressing" or "OG Press" are used to distinguish a record from a modern pressing or repressing after the original vinyl era. This does not mean the record is a 1st pressing exclusively. Please refer to Vinyl etchings on inner groove if you'd like to research specific pressings. If a pic of the inner groove has not been provided, please message and one will be sent. I do use the new anti-static sleeve provided to jot notes down relative to the listings, so one side will likely have some scribbling in the bottom left corner while the other will have my stock number. This is done in black fine tip sharpie and does not smear at all. Record grading: Below are details of how records are graded. Records are graded conservatively and follow Gold Mine's grading standard. The vinyl grade is first followed by the sleeve grade. If there is a noticeable mark on the record, there will be a picture in the description following the picture of that side of the record. So, first will be a picture of the vinyl side A or B, then will be a closer picture of whatever flaw there is taken in a brighter, more direct light. Most flaws look more significant in the bright lighting then they really are to the records play. Sleeve grading is a bit more evident in the picture itself. I will never grade a used vinyl higher than a NM-. I will never grade a used sleeve higher then an EX+. Anything given those grades is the best one could expect for an open copy. Grades are as follows: SS: Still sealed: Record is in its original seal and has not been played. NM- Near Mint Minus. The highest grade I will give a used record. Shiny surface free from any visible mark. The only thing better is a new record in sealed shrink wrap. EX Excellent. Used to differentiate a record just barely not mint. Will have only one visible flaw that is certain to not effect playback. VG++ Very good plus plus; A great record that will have a very minimal amount of light visual marks on the disc with little to no effect on the sound VG+: Very good plus. The record has been played regularly and is showing minor signs of wear . Surface marks are evident and there will be minor audible clicks and pops VG: Very good. A well played, average record with more visible surface wear than above grades. Will have audible clicks, pops and surface noise but will play through without skips. This should be expected to be a flawed, far for perfect record. VG- : Very good minus. Deeper more apparent scratches or scuffs that will effect the play of the record, but should still play through without skips or interruption. The lowest grade I would list unless the record is particularly rare. This will be a considerably flawed record. G: Good. Heavy wear, deeper scratches and noticeable sound quality deterioration, possibly with distortion, loud clicks, and pops. Possibly skipping. All of my products are thoroughly checked during the procurement, listing and shipping processes. I try to grade conservatively because I'd rather you be pleasantly surprised by the quality of a record then disappointed. Grades are, of course, subjective and I sometimes miss things. If a product isn't as described, I always issue returns with no hassle, so please message me to start the return process if you aren't 100% satisfied. In order to provide excellent deals and prompt service, I offer 30 day returns for any reason. I appreciate positive feedback! All products are shipped from a smoke free, pet free home. Here are just a few things customers have said about our shopping experience, all pulled from my feedback. "I bought quite a few records at one time, and Alex packaged each individual record beautifully, then put all inner packs in an outer box to ensure everything made the trip safely. I think he may have been a packaging engineer in another life. After all that, he consolidated shipping and sent me a refund. This is the kind of interaction, integrity and care that I take in my own business, so really appreciate recognizing others who do it right. If I could, I'd have given him a 6th star!!" "Excellent shape clean record. Fast shipping. Will be back!" "Thank you for the smooth transaction! Beautiful album!! Love it! Great communication" "Perfect!! Sounds great! Well packaged and fast shipping!!" "Thanks for nice records and quick service!"
