BADGER BRAND FERTILIZER advertising BULLET PENCIL. This vintage advertising bullet pencil is nearly 70 years old and measures approximately 4.0” long by 3/8” in diameter at its widest and approximately 5/16” in diameter at its smallest (bullet end-tip). Please refer to description photos # 11 and # 12 to confirm the size dimensions of the pencil and for more details about what I have described. The pencil is blue with orange graphics that surround the center barrel of the pencil. All the graphics remain vibrant and legible as can be confirmed in the description photos. The orange graphics include a diamond shaped logo that features the company logo and name “KOOS” at the top. Immediately below the aforementioned logo is an orange band with blue letters that read “BADGE BRAND”. Below the noted Badger Brand name is the word “FERTILIZER” printed in orange against the pens blue background. Further below is an orange colored band that features the full company name “N. S. KOOS & SON, CO.” in blue lettering. Please refer to all the description photos to confirm the condition of the pencil and for more details about what I have described. The bullet pencil barrel has a couple of minor dents and surface blemishes from age and honest use throughout the years but overall remains in good looking condition as can be confirmed in the description photos. The brown rubber eraser is hard from age but still retains an attractive and nostalgic appearance. The end-tip (bullet end) of the pencil remains securely inserted in the pencil barrel and can easily be pulled in and/or out and used as originally designed. The small pencil remains as found and can easily be replaced with another standard size pencil if and when needed. As long as I owned this pencil it was never actually used for anything other than being displayed among my collection of other vintage advertising bullet pencils. All the silver colored metal surfaces remain clean and smooth as can be verified in the description photos. Overall, this is a genuine piece of vintage 1950’s American agricultural advertising that promotes an iconic mid-western brand fertilizer. This colorful pencil would look great displayed in any vintage bullet pencil collection.
