Description: This Midnight Lace Obsidian knife is a keeper!! 8 1/4 inches long. The black bands and islands of red mottle across the blade through a clear backdrop with a mix of color from the haft to the tip. The handle is whitetail deer antler that is solid with polished areas including the butt of the handle--wrapped with golden brown sinew that has been sealed. Signed by diamond scribe on the blade itself. The handle is bumpy with lots of character. The blade and handle are held together with strong epoxy, wrapped with sinew, then stained and sealed. I've been knapping for over 27 years creating 10s of thousands of obsidian blades and knives in that span. I have made prop knives for movies such as Riddick 3 and Beyond the Wall of Sleep. My knives have been collected world wide since 1997 beginning in the Fiji Islands. Its my pleasure to bring to you a piece of finest quality in stone blade knives. The obsidian blade has a sharp edge that has been tested to cut hog leather and, yes, it does cut leather. It also has very even parallel flaking the full length of the blade. Most of the stone knives available today do not have the sharp edges I attain and insist upon. The handle is made from a shed deer antler with a polished rosette. The haft is wrapped tight with sinew and makes a smooth transition from blade to handle bring to two together with line and flow. Obsidian knives are fragile and should always be handled with caution and care and should never be used to cut food.
