Description: This listing is for 1 follis coin, minted during the reign of Anastasius I (491-518 AD), in Constantinople.Size: 25 mm // 8.78 g Reference: Sear 25 Obverse: DN ANASTASIVS PP AVG; Emperor pearl diademed, draped, cuirassed bust right.Reverse: Large K, long cross to left, officina letter to right, no mintmark ---In 498, following the coinage reform of Anastasius, the byzantines reintroduced the follis as a large bronze coin with denominations marked in Greek numerals: "M" for a full follis worth 40 nummi, "K" for the semifollis worth 20 nummi, "I" for the decanummium worth 10 nummi , and "E" for the pentanummium worth 5 nummi. Even water can change the way they look forever. So please please please before doing anything read, watch videos, multiple if necessary as different people can have different opinions and most importantly the coins are not the same (just because cleaning one kind of bronze coins in a specific way is ok, it doesn’t mean it will be fine for all bronze coins and so on). So just be careful. As for storage, there are many good options available, just try to keep in mind that whatever you end up choosing should be acid-free and pvc-free, as normal paper and plastic have chemicals on the surface which can and will damage coins and banknotes if they stay in contact for a long time.
