In French, map surrounded by ten miniatures vignettes of holy vessels, priestly articles such as the Tabernacle and Ark of the Covenant, and a sketch of the Israelites' encampment in the desert, copperplate engraving, black-and-white, originally engraved by Jacques François Benard, from the book Histoire du Peuple de Dieu, Volume II. No date on this map, but c. 1742. Plate mark is 8 1/2" x 13"; overall 9" x 13 1/2". Please note in photo, the close-up scan on the bottom is the exact color of the map; top portion shows the entire map and color is off a bit. Condition: Very good condition with original fold lines, small light stains in right blank margin, some minor chipping on edges not affecting the engraving.
