Enjoy shake-free photos and videos The feature I was most excited about with the R6 is its all-new five-axis in-body image stabilization system — the first of its kind for Canon. It lets you take photos in low-light environments at slow shutter speeds, a situation where slight movements of your hands would normally affect your image quality. The image stabilization system is particularly helpful when recording handheld video. You'll capture super-smooth footage without the "jumping" effect that non-stabilized cameras can produce. Canon introduced the R6 and the R5 at the same time, offering two compelling options for photographers and videographers. So which of these cameras is right for you? There are two main differences between them. The first is that the R5 records photographs at a much higher resolution (45 megapixels versus 20.1 for the R6). If you do significant cropping during post-processing, or if you're planning on making extra-large prints, the R5 is worth considering solely for its larger file sizes.
