Bottoming out occurs when a key is pressed down to its limit, causing the key stem to collide with the switch casing. Captain O-Rings's keyboard dampeners provide a shock absorber at the bottom of each key to create a consistent, uniform sound while typing. These dampeners also reduce the travel of keys by 0.2mm, which greatly reduces finger fatigue. Durable EPDM rubber o-rings don't crack like black buna o-rings typically do in this application. To install, simply remove each key, place o-ring around the stem, and replace each key. Installation typically takes 4-5 minutes for the entire keyboard and lasts the life of the keyboard.
