Description: Charles Heave Dolan [1895 1981] was one of the original 38 confirmed American pilots to join the Lafayette Escadrille in 1916. He began his service in France as a volunteer in 1915 with the French Foreign Legion during the opening of the war. Dolan served in Lafayette Escadrille Squadron N-124 until the United States entered the war where he then transferred to the U.S.103rd Aero Squadron. Lieutenant Dolan was credited with two aerial victories and seven probables during his service. Dolan later served as the President of the Lafayette Escadrille Society and was the last surviving member. Listed for auction is a photograph signed by Charles H. Dolan. The photograph is a paper copy of a book photograph which contains his image and bio information. The autograph is dedicated and signed ''from Carl Dolan 1981'' and he added at the bottom ''Carl is my nickname'' in black pen. The page measures 8.75 x 5.75 inches, it has trivial handling wear otherwise it is in very good condition. The autograph is authentic and will be a desirable addition to any World War I collection.
