Description: Please read & note: This is a Rights holding DVD created & produced by me and is not factory made or sealed. I strive to produce the best DVD's possible from the sometimes VERY old Public Domain material. Films that are public domain are unpreserved and not professionally re-mastered. I re-master all of my films myself to the best possible quality acheivable. My DVDs are not the quality of todays Modern DVDs or Bluray discs. If you are looking for this kind of quality then these discs are not for you. All pictures are actual screen captures from the DVDs. Please note this when purchasing, but also know that all of the films are very watchable. To keep my prices as low as possible all my DVDs are delivered in plain paper DVD sleeves and the DVDs title will be labeled on the back of the DVD envelope. This way you can write the contents of the DVD on the DVD yourself if you want to. (See picture). All of my DVD's come with a menu for easy film selection. Total runtime of the DVD is 62 minutes. Item specifics are: Film 1: A Coach for Cinderella (1936) COLOR Runtime 9 minutes Jam Handy knew how to sell Chevrolets quite well, and this ranks among their finest efforts. Now only does this advertise the chevy quite well, it's also an amusing cartoon that's great for kids. Release Date: 1936 Entered the Public Domain: 1965 Film 2: A Ride for Cinderella (1937) COLOR Runtime 10 minutes This Film is the conclusion to "A Coach for Cinderella." And, both are of excellent quality for it's time and even by todays standards. Details down to reflections in the water, background, great variety for back up characters, shadows, the given appearance of lighting, consistency in background and coloring, all well done. It's a rare occurrence that such detail is put in. Or so much variety. Release Date: 1937 Entered the Public Domain: 1966 Film 3: Peg-Leg Pedro (1938) COLOR Runtime 9 minutes Another classic animated cartoon by Jam Handy for Chevrolet. This time, they use a pirate, Treasure Island theme to push the Chevy. Still has the very questionable 12 year old looking females in distress and the very implausible ending. Release Date: 1938 Entered the Public Domain: 1967 Film 4: The Princess and the Pauper (1939) COLOR Runtime 10 minutes Another in the Nicky Nome series of Technicolor Chevrolet cartoons. In this one, a doltish king promises the hand of his lovely daughter to the wealthiest man in the land. Nobody is richer than sleazy "Ali Kazam," but a more deserving "pauper boy" gets the girl when Nicky whisks him away to the Valley of Jewels on a magic carpet that turns into a you-know-what. Beautifully animated and scored. Release Date: 1939 Entered the Public Domain: 1968 Film 5: One Bad Knight (1939) COLOR Runtime 9 minutes Silly toon in typical 1930's style with catchy music and Middle Ages adventure theme. Starts out meandering, but soon we are in a great battle in which a boy with a wooden sword ends up defeating the bad knight by unleashing an awesome weapon: A Chevy! The power of many horses, moving fortress, great speed! It can drive through the castle wall! Release Date: 1939 Entered the Public Domain: 1968 Film 6: Nicky Rides Again (1938) COLOR Runtime 9 minutes This very racist cartoon features Nicky Nome who stumbles upon a Indian child getting kidnapped by a white kid. The Indian chief doesn't like this one bit and declares war, but Nicky saves the day (with the help of a shiny black Chevrolet). The animation here is excellent. Release Date: 1938 Entered the Public Domain: 1967 Film 7: In My Merry Oldsmobile (1932) B&W Runtime 6 minutes Not a Chevrolet cartoon but I included it because it is a must see. This Fleischer Studios sing-along cartoon contains a surprising amount of immodest imagery. Lovely "Lucille" is menaced by a mustachioed villain/voyeur but then is rescued by her pint-sized true love. Since both suitors own Oldsmobile's, there doesn't seem to be much of a point. Watch for the candy cane-licking sequence. "You can go as far as you like with me in my merry Oldsmobile...." Release Date: 1933 Entered the Public Domain: 1962 I claim ownership and rights to this media. All the films on this DVD have been researched and are copyright free or the copyrights have expired due to non renewal.
