Apparently, it took over a year of development to make it happen, and the brand-new Christopher Ward x Oracle Time C65 Dune Shoreline wristwatch is a jaw dropper and the designer was William Brackfield who is on fire in the watch making industry at the moment having just won the GPHG for designing the Bel Canto. Inspiration: The watch dial was inspired by the rugged, changeable coast of the British Isles. Imagine the grey British leaden sky reflecting on the shoreline ... and that's what we have here. One cant also help but notice the blue markers, which remind me of a colour fiercely protected by another company so I wont name them. If its not obvious who I am alluding to search for Breakfast at on IMDB and the movie title it suggests is a clue to the vibe I am getting. That colour is so so hot at the moment. Into the details: Anyway, enough waffle, lets take a closer look at the watch in question. The C65 Dune Shoreline is based on the Christopher Ward C65 Dune in steel with a 38mm diameter, a seriously cool field watch with 150m water resistance. Although technically the Shoreline is hybridised with the bronze COSC editions because CW have never produced a steel chronometer edition of the Dune and the Dune Shoreline is indeed chronometer certified. Ive included a photo of the COSC certificate in the listing. The look and feel: Aesthetically, its a lovely retro faintly militaristic vibe with the brushed steel design and smooth bezel that CW do so well. The only change they made to the case itself is the discreet Oracle Time name that is inscribed on the case back. Its done really subtly so you wont even have to let anyone know this is a collaboration watch unless you really want to. You will also know that if they want to try and buy one, they will experience nothing but disappointment as this is simply a watch which is as rare as hens teeth.
