Description: I did field service for 22 years on industrial laser engravers for Control Laser Corp. and TJS Lasers. I worked on 50 to 100 watt lamp-pumped YAG lasers at 1064 nm, and this thermopile was one of the workhorses of my repair and tuning. The first thing I would do was take out my thermopile and measure the laser output power (and compare to lamp current.) After repairs and tuning, I would measure the output laser power again to show it was up to spec, and how much I had improved it. This unit served me well for many years, but due to heavy use, has become less sensitive. When it was new, the millivolt output per watt was 0.4mV/watt. That is, at 10 watts of laser power, a DVM would read 4.0 millivolts. As it aged and got burned, the folks at TJS would calibrate it and give me a new factor to calculate my power readings accurately. After the last "calibration" the output ratio was 0.378mV/watt so 10 watts would only display 3.8 millivolts. I believe that factor still produces fair results, close enough. The last time I had a calibration from the folks at Coherent, they said they could not calibrate a burned sensor and a new sensor in my thermopile cost $500! And that was over a decade ago! Also, in 2013, I bought a new Coherent PM150-50B, a larger, higher power thermopile that listed for $960, but they gave me 25% off for exchanging my old PM 205! That's $240! (also, see my listing for the PM150-50B, currently active!) Even though I can find no markings on this thermopile, other than the output ratio, I believe it is made by Coherent, though I am not sure about the model, but I'll bet Coherent will still give you credit. Also, the fixture is to hang the thermopile below the center of the focus lens on CLC's Signatures and Scripts. For other model lasers, I would remove the top part of the fixture and use it like that. Also, with the top part removed, it would stand in the rail in front of the front mirror. The holes were made to reduce the weight in my toolbox. Don
