Description: Please read the following before bidding on this auction: This auction is for a hand-picked 12 piece set of outside screws for your Colt SAA 1st Generation black powder gun before serial number about 165,000 or before the push-pin release introduction for the cylinder base pin. The auction also has the hard-to-find screw that holds in the cylinder base - please note - this screw is the correct size that came from the factory, threads are 8 x 38 and has the rounded end for holding the pin in place. Take a look at yours and maybe yours will have a different screw in the gun. Users had a lot of trouble keeping this screw tight enough to hold the pin and they would use whatever screw they had since the original would strip out. Also, the base pin would get bend under heat and pressure and it was forcing the screw to go too far inside and would strip out the original hole. Colt knew of this problem and actually made a replacement screw as well but that didn't help either. The side push-pin system was introduced and the use of moly steel for the base pin corrected the problems with this screw/base pin issues. NOTE: The screws are not heavily blued and have a look of aged steel to them (please refer to the pictures provided). These were made this way on purpose for a better look on your ageless single action gun. Set consists of: 1 hammer screw, 1 trigger screw, 1 bolt screw, 1 base pin screw, 1 ejector tube screw (After 1875 type), 1 front trigger guard screw, 1 front strap screw, 2 upper back strap thick headed screws, 2 rear trigger guard screws, and 1 standard grip screw (as with so many different grips being used this screw may or may not fit yours). These screws were made in the mid 1990's from the original blueprints by the same manufacturer that Colt used for making them.
